Acupuncture, a branch of traditional Chinese Medicine, is the insertion of extremely fine disposable needles at specific points on the skin to correct or stimulate energy blockages and imbalances of the body. The Five Element Acupuncture is based on the understanding of the cyclical flow of vital energy – also known as Qi. Each of the Five Elements – Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water – represents a distinct quality of the Qi energy that is vital to the continual health and flow of nature.

How does acupuncture work?
Acupuncture works by stimulating the body’s energy at points close to the skin. Pain, stress, organ imbalances, illness and diseases can be treated by inserting needles at specific points to correct and stimulate energy blockages and imbalances. As part of the acupuncture treatments, additional methods like cupping, moxa, gua sha, and tui na are used to stimulate the body’s natural energy (Qi).
Cupping is an ancient Chinese technique, which uses suction cups on the skin and creating a vacuum under the cup by using heat. First, oil is rubbed to the skin, permitting the cups to move more easily, while the suction of skin is active. This technique stimulates blood and lymph circulation, relieving sore muscles, pain, stiffness and tension. It is also recommended for treating gastrointestinal disorders and for chronic cough and asthma. This procedure is usually combined with an acupuncture treatment.
AuricuLAR Acupuncture (Ear Acupuncture)
Ear acupuncture is an acupuncture technique stimulating reflex points in the ear that can relieve illness and pain acting on the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. Tiny seeds or crystals are placed on ear points and pressure is applied to improve health and restore beauty.
People are fully clothed while receiving treatment. Addiction, traumatic stress and pain are addressed by using a set protocol created by the National Acupuncture Detox Association (NADA). This protocol has been used by Acupuncturists Without Borders and NADA volunteers around the world. Individuals suffering from stress disorders, anger, depression, fatigue and other emotional and physical pain as well as surviving victims of Hurricanes, war zones, fires, and other traumatic disasters can immensely benefit from this method of treatment. Auricular Acupuncture creates a calming and transformative experience without the need for the traumatized client to talk.
